Lewes

As the first town in the first state, Lewes is full of historical attractions celebrating their maritime history. In this walking town, you’ll find a pleasant year-round community with a unique way of life. Covering about 4 square miles, Lewes has a population of just under 3,000 people and a beautiful curved beach for swimming, boating, fishing and other activities.

The Cape-May Lewes Ferry has a terminal in Lewes where you can board the ferry and cruise across the Delaware Bay to New Jersey. The Cape Henlopen State Park is located just outside of Lewes on a narrow point where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean.
